Mr. Web Jiver I'm not the owner of this blog, but I am a music attorney, record producer and rock musician (in the sixties with a popular U.S. blues Band). One of the best fucking guitarists and drummers in the States at the time !!! Your comments are all within the boundaries of your rights, except you attached them to the comments of a file which is dor all intents and purposes, a bootleg - although officially recorded by others. I would like to remind you that up to, and including now - bootlegs exist with a total legal limbo. Although clearly the work of a given artist, if the work is not bluntly directly 'sold' on the market it's status is, until further decisions by the U.S. Supreme Court, an open question. And until that time in which final verdicts are given bootlegs are free to be traded in the public, BUT not sold. Hopefully decisions will one day be made and in all fairness, probably all rights including bootlegs should belong to the artist. Because of my sixties connection totally to the blues, I know Van Morrison from various gigs. Just like most modern up-to- date artists, it would likely be worth Van's while to every few years to allow an authorized bootleg to appear on the market. But of course, the giant corporate businesse aand don't understand nor even actually truly give a genuine shit about the music or the artists, would dump in their diapers, if they don't suck the blood from every work that an artists does. I know that Van's company Exile is full of good people and that they are doing their best work for everyone involved, but hopefully they and you, never bother quoting the bullshit of the RIAA is protecting the artists. You know (if you are an honest person and not a corporate liar) the RIAA doesn't protect the artist one bit, rather their own profit interests. (Prime examole Carlos Santana's problems in the 60's over royalties - the RIAA just told him to forget trying to get the money he was owed - because as we ALL should forever remember RIAA stands for Recording INDUSTRY Association of America. INDUSTRY being the key word, and the word artists NOWHERE in the name.
The only thing to say is a very big thank you for sharing this great music. Muchisimas Gracias Abel. We owe you so much and surelly apreciate and back all your efforts. Keep tha flag of good music as high as you can.
